As the VP of Marketing at Sharp Dentistry & Associates, Valeria Braga has been working with the dental group for more than 15 years to develop their health marketing strategy to increase their new patient database, and additionally, creating loyalty programs to retain current patients. The dental practice group has been growing and expanding into a recently full remodeled state of the art private clinic, offering the highest technology and all dental specialties for all dental needs under the same roof. The diverse clientele from Miami, nationally and all over the world continues to grow due to the strategic marketing and the word of mouth about their white glove customer service and professionalism and knowledge of the dentists specialists.
RETAIL MARKETING
Braga’s passion for retail fashion blossomed in 1980 in her native Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she created and marketed her own signature brand “ Ipanema Clothing”. Dazzled by the growing fashion trend in Miami, Braga joined the world-renowned department store Saks Fifth Avenue in Bal Harbour as the Assistant Fashion & Public Relations Director. During her tenure at Saks, Braga received a degree in fashion merchandising from the distinguished International Fine Arts College (University of Miami) in Miami. In 1992 she was recruited to implement a personal shopper department for Compass Retail’s malls in Miami: Dadeland, Omni International and Westland. In her trajectory she was the director of travel marketing for Sawgrass Mills Mall and the Mills corporation shopping centers. Braga currently continues to provide consulting services for the retail industry.
TOURISM AS A RETAIL BUSINESS
Braga spearheaded the first international marketing department for Compass Retail malls in Miami where she instituted effective tourism marketing campaigns to position Dadeland Mall, Omni International Mall and Westland Mall as the premier shopping destinations for Latin American travelers in Miami. Braga’s passionate commitment to build successful brands earned her the reputation and prominence that ultimately garnered her the position of Senior Director of Tourism for the second largest tourism attraction in Florida – Sawgrass Mills in Fort Lauderdale. Her responsibilities there included all aspects of travel marketing programs to lure visitors to one of the largest shopping centers in the nation, hosting more than 26 million visitors a year. Braga’s success as the Director of tourism for Sawgrass Mills catapulted her to the position of Senior Director of International Tourism across 15 Mills Corporation shopping centers nationwide.
